Threaded Pins

Threaded Pins are used where two pieces must be assembled and must support a load, typically as a fastener. Its strength capabilities depend upon the thread dimensions and the mechanical properties of the fastener material.

The thread is formed when a die, a hardened piece of steel with the desired thread profile, is applied against a revolving work surface. As applied force is gradually increased, the thread profile is transferred to the workpiece. The result is a stronger thread than the one that is ground or cut.

Most metals can be thread rolled, including steel, stainless, brass, aluminum. Fostermation can assist you in the exact material grade, tensile selection and thread specification to maximize product performance for your particular application.
